A refreshing view on recovery housing and the path to lifelong recovery is here on the shores of Lake Erie in Ohio

  • We invite all women and women with children* who seek safe, supportive and sober housing and need the added environmental and emotional support to maintain their sobriety.
  • This opportunity is available to women who have successfully completed a substance use disorder treatment program and have shown the ability to maintain abstinence from substance use with minimal supervision.
  • Each resident must maintain employment and contribute a portion of her income for residency and must continue with counseling as well as regularly attend self-help group meetings.
  • We believe that reuniting mothers with their children can be critical to the mother's success in recovery, so some children* may also be permitted to reside with their mothers.

*Children may be accepted into housing with their mothers, based upon space availability and some age restrictions.

Lifelong Care and Support

  • Through our partnerships with several government and private organizations, we are creating an entire ‘Circle of Care’ to ensure substance use disorders are treated like the chronic illnesses they are.
  • Extensive research shows that addiction disorders do not respond well to short-term therapies; instead, like other chronic illnesses, addiction disorders require continued medical assistance and regular maintenance procedures.
  • Genesis Recovery Housing provides one of the previously missing, yet critical components in this Circle of Care approach to treatment: a safe, supportive and sober place to call home.
  • At Genesis Recovery Housing, the residents can continue their recovery while gaining the confidence and tools they need to succeed in the real world and maintain lifelong sobriety.

Think it's too good to be true?

  • We thought so too at first, but we turned our dreams into reality and can now offer this great opportunity to women in recovery.
  • We can be their partner on their path to lifelong recovery and help them lead the life they’ve always wanted!
